Wall Mount Case

Worklog: Here
There's no question that nearly all worklogs on in our
project log forum are full of modding with scratch builds and case mods aplenty. However the tweaking on show is usually confined to the PC in question and doesn't extend to things around it.
Not so with this one. bfelda's wall mount case is not only a scratch built PC which looks great mounted to his living room wall, but even the wall was modded to fit the case and neatly route all the cables! Needless to say when we saw the mix of holes in walls and plasterboard we knew we just had to include Wall Mount Case in this month's MOTM.
Above are some very nice renders of the finished article the first showing the case with the guts that will be located behind the wall. On the right is a render of how the finished article will look. Very interesting is the answer - we love the mirror finish on the case and the fact that some real thought has gone into cooling. Just as well, as bfelda is planning on using high end parts rather than low power kit such as Mini ITX and like. It's shaping up to be one of the most interesting scratch builds we've seen on
bit-tech for some time.
Here are a couple of images we've nabbed from bfelda's project log. They show the frame of the PC well into the construction phase and on the right we can clearly see it mounted in a plasterboard frame. We wonder if bfelda does installations?
We can now see the circular housing of the case fascia mounted to the rest of the unit. To hide weld marks and the like, bfelda powder coated the housing as it would be visible once the build is complete and also has the USB ports and power switch located on it.
A nearly finished Wall Mount Case that looks like a million dollars! We really do think this looks cool and of course a large widescreen TV makes all the difference! Make sure you check out
bfelda's project log for the latest updates to Wall Mount Case.
